Arizona State Parks and Trails is offering free admission to all state parks this weekend.Β

Entrance fees will be waived for all Arizona residents starting Saturday, Jan. 13 through Martin Luther Kind Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 15.Β

There are lots of state parks near Tucson, namely Catalina, Kartchner Caverns, Oracle, Picacho Peak, Patagonia Lake and Tubac Presidio state parks.Β

The waiver only works for entrance to the parks thoughΒ β€” other fees, such as tours at Kartchner Caverns, camping or other special events will still apply.Β

Governor Doug Ducey announced the free admission was in celebration of Arizona State Parks and Trails winning a gold medal award for best-managed state parks in the United States.
