A Tucson police officer responding to a report of a fight fired his gun, striking a man, a police spokeswoman said early Thursday.
The man was taken to a local hospital and is in critical condition, said Sgt. Kimberly Bay, the police spokeswoman.
No officers were injured, she said.
The officers were called just after 8 p.m. Wednesday to the 1300 block of N. Falcon Ridge Drive, near West Speedway and North Greasewood Road on the city's west side, for the report of a fight involving a gun.
The investigation continues and no other information was immediately released.
