A man died after he was struck by two vehicles on South Sixth Avenue Saturday night, police said.

The man, who hasnโ€™t been identified, was walking east across Sixth, north of West Irvington Road, at around 7:30 p.m. when he was struck by a blue 2003 Acura traveling north, according to a news release from the Tucson Police Department.

The driver pulled over to provide aid, but before he could, the man was struck by a second vehicle, described as a white sedan, that did not remain on the scene, the release said.

The man was taken to Banner-University Medical Center, where he died shortly after arrival.

The victim was not in a crosswalk when he was first struck. Neither speed nor impairments appear to be factors in the initial collision, the release said.
