Dr. Jennifer J. Smith has joined as assistant professor of emergency medicine after recently completing an emergency medical services fellowship at the UA.
Smith received her doctor of pharmacy degree from Albany College of Pharmacy and her medical degree from the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago. She completed her residency training in emergency medicine at the UA. Her research interests include pre-hospital medical care and pharmaceuticals, and community paramedicine.
Smith will practice at Banner–University Medical Center Tucson and South, and will serve as the associate medical director for the BUMC-S Base Hospital.
Four longtime University of Arizona Health Network employees have been promoted to leadership positions within Banner–University Medicine, the academic arm of Banner Health. Nonprofit Banner Health acquired the UA Health Network in March.
