At UA, Silva to pursue biomed partnerships
After a national search, Rick Silva was named executive director of biomedical corporate alliances at the Arizona Health Sciences Center at the University of Arizona.
Silva is responsible for developing and managing UA-industry partnerships in biomedical research. He will work with Tech Launch Arizona as well as with the UA Foundation, the UA Alumni Association, public and private entities and other stakeholders.
He was with the University of Colorado Denver Technology Transfer Office for 14 years, serving as senior director since 2012.
Silva received his doctorate in physiology, with an emphasis in molecular endocrinology and molecular biology, from Colorado State University. He also holds a master’s of business administration from the University of Colorado Boulder and a bachelor of science in agriculture from New Mexico State University.
