Bishop Kicanas wrote that Attorney General Sessions only heard part of the story and implied that Sessions was not sympathetic to migrants' crossing illegally. Session's job is enforcement, Congress is responsible for writing the law that will address the problem.

The Bishop called for a comprehensive solution.

There is great misconception about proponents of a wall, deportation and enforcement of immigration law. There is a history of decades of calls to solve this problem by first stopping the illegal crossing and then creating a legal system for allowing people to enter to work legally. Opposition to enforcement has done nothing but prolong the wait for reform. That is the part of the story missing in the Bishop's message.

Failing to address both sides of this dilemma on both sides of the border is inhumane.
