Re: the March 5 article β€œ200Β TucsonΒ cops, firefighters were paid over $100,000 in '16"

As the father of a 17-year Tucson Fire Department firefighter I spent a shift with Station Central-Tucson Fire Station downtown. I also spent a tour with a Tucson Police Officer one evening several years ago. I also had the opportunity to spend several evenings in the emergency room at Banner University Medical Center, where my older son works. I want this community to have a reality check. I came away with a clearer picture of the dangers of all three jobs. They don't get paid enough. Take the time to say thanks to firefighters, police officers and hospital personnel. Thank them with the same sincerity we thank our troops.
