Motorists can expect delays on westbound Interstate 10 near Vail, southeast of Tucson.
Early in the morning on Thursday, Nov. 19 Arizona Department of Transportation workers will be completing the job of installing girders on a new bridge over Davidson Canyon.
To complete the setting of the last two girders, ADOT plans intermittent rolling closures between 1-3 a.m. on Thursday.
The Department of Public Safety plans to slow westbound traffic near Marsh Station Road (Exit 291) and escort vehicles toward the bridge.
The intermittent closures of the highway are necessary to ensure the safety of the traveling public and the work crews.
Delays of up to 30 minutes can be expected during the rolling closures.
Eastbound I-10 will remain open.
The $15.1 million replacement of the 1960s era bridge at Davidson Canyon is part of a larger repaving project of 17-mile section of freeway between Tucson and Benson.
