Homicide detectives arrested a suspect Friday in connection with the shooting death of a man whose body was found in an east-side wash, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said.

Deputy Ryan Inglett, a department spokesman, gave the following account:

Vacciana Carvel Williams, 33, was arrested and faces charges in the death of Andrew Laffaite Johnson, also 33. He was found dead of gunshot wounds on Feb. 8, at the north end of Bowes Road, north of Snyder Road.

Detectives have learned that Johnson also went by the name Anthony Levi Smith and lived in Jamaica and the United Kingdom prior to moving to the United States.

The investigation continues, and detectives are asking anyone with information about the case to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
