There's a growing potential for thunderstorms in Tucson beginning Saturday afternoon that will get stronger through Monday, the forecast shows.
The storms are not expected to be particularly strong, but it could end several days without rain across the region.
A few stronger thunderstorms this weekend could, however, be able to produce strong winds, hail and heavy rainfall, especially Sunday and Monday, the National Weather Service in Tucson said.
Any storms Saturday and Sunday are expected to bring mostly rain, with a chance of stronger thunderstorms on Monday, the weather service said.
Monday also is expected to be breezy, especially in the afternoon when sustained winds of between 10 and 20 miles per hour are expected. Wind gusts Monday could reach 30 mph, the weather service said.
