A Green Valley man who had been missing since late November was discovered in a wash Monday afternoon, authorities said.

Initial findings indicate that the death of 37-year-old William Kenneth Darrow could be accidental, but the investigation is ongoing until an autopsy is complete, said Deputy Cody Gress, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman.

At about 4:30 p.m., deputies went to the area of North Abrego Drive and East El Valle after receiving reports of a man down. When they got there, they learned that a jogger found a man in the wash area "who appeared to be deceased" and were able to locate the body, Gress said.

Homicide detectives took over the investigation and were able to identify the body as Darrow, who had been listed as a missing person since Dec. 1, Gress said.

On Nov. 25, Darrow's mother contacted the Sheriff''s department, asking that they perform a welfare check on her son, who she hadn't heard from in two days. When deputies arrived at his home in the 300 block of South Abrego, they found the door open, but no signs of Darrow inside of the residence, Gress said.

When she still hadn't heard from him on Dec. 1, Darrow's mother requested he be officially listed as a missing person.
