Customs and Border Protection officers seized 1,945 pounds of marijuana hidden in a tractor-trailer rig trying to cross through the Nogales Port of Entry. The marijuana seized Tuesday at the Mariposa Commercial Facility was worth about $972,000, according to a news release from CBP. A tractor-trailer rig driven by a Nogales, Sonora, man was searched after a drug dog alerted to the vehicle.

The marijuana seized Tuesday at the Mariposa Commercial Facility was worth about $972,000, according to a news release from CBP.

A tractor-trailer rig driven by a Nogales, Sonora, man was searched after a drug dog alerted to the vehicle.

Officers found the 200 packages of marijuana hidden in the trailer's roof.

The drugs, vehicle and produce in the trailer were seized. The driver was turned over the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
