The Amphitheater Public Schools is providing free vision screenings to all students in kindergarten through third grade.Β 

The district received a $20,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Southern Arizona for the vision screening. Students who show vision problems during the screenings could be referred to further exam and two pairs of free glasses.Β 

More than 2,400 students from twelve schools have been screened so far, according to Amy Sharpe, the district's spokeswoman.Β 

Students from two remaining schools – Nash and Prince elementary schools – will be screened on Nov. 5 and Nov. 9, respectively.Β
