Josie Romero, the 11-year-old Tucson girl who the Arizona Daily Star wrote about in July 2010 , was featured on Dateline NBC tonight.
Josie was born a boy but now lives as a girl and proudly labels herself transgender.
With the support of her family, she began transitioning from Joey to Josie at the age of six, but says she's known all her life that she should be living as a girl.
Tonight's show follows Josie to medical appointments where she and her mother seek hormones to block Josie from going through puberty as a boy.
