Vacciana Carvel Williams

Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with a man found shot to death in the desert area of the Foothills in early February.

33-year-old Vacciana Carvel Williams has been booked into the Pima County jail after an investigation into the death of Andrew Laffaite Johnson led detectives to Williams, said Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman, Deputy Ryan Inglett.

No additional details about his arrest were immediately available.

Johnson, 33, also went by Anthony Levi Smith and prior to living in the United States, he lived in Jamaica and the United Kingdom.

On Feb. 8, a woman who lives near Sabino Canyon reported finding a body of a man in a desert area at the north end of North Bowes Road north of East Snyder Road.

Deputies responded to the area and found the man. He was not carrying identification, but was later determined to be Williams.
