Detectives with the Pima County Sheriff's Department are looking for a man caught on video stealing a dog from the Humane Society earlier this month.

At about 11:45 p.m. on March 5, a one-year-old male Basenji mix was taken from its kennel at the shelter, located at 3450 N. Kelvin Blvd.

Detectives don't know how the man was able to get into the building, but heΒ damaged a security camera, and forced his way into the dog's kennel, according to a post on the Sheriff's Department Facebook page.

The man, who was caught on surveillance, was last seen wearing a baseball cap, camouflage pants, white shoes, a white t-shirt and glasses.

The dog is brown with dark fur around its ears and mouth, and a white spot on the front of his chest, weighing between 30 and 40 pounds.

Anyone who can help identify the suspect is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
