A bicyclist was struck by a vehicle and killed on Tucson's northwest side Wednesday night.
Northwest Fire District paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene on North Flowing Wells Road and West Wetmore Road, said Capt. Adam Goldberg, a fire district spokesman.
The bicyclist was not wearing a helmet, said Goldberg.
Deputies with the Pima County Sheriff's Department were at the scene conducting the investigation.
The driver of the vehicle who struck the man remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, Goldberg said. Β
Traffic is restricted on Wetmore just east of Flowing Wells.
Motorists were asked to avoid the area.
