Elijah Kawon Muhammad Lee Mays was arrested on Friday for second-degree murder in the Jan. 15 shooting death of his brother, Tucson rapper Jeremy High.

Tucson police apprehended the suspect in a Jan. 15 east-side shooting death of his brother, rapper Jeremy High, according to a department spokesman.

Elijah Kawon Muhammad Lee Mays, 22, was arrested and booked into the Pima County jail on one charge of second-degree murder, said Sgt. Pete Dugan.

He's currently being held on $150,000 bond.

On Thursday, officers received information about the possible whereabouts of Elijah Mays and responded to a vacant house in the 7600 block of East Logan Place, according to a department news release.

Officers located a vehicle that was backed into the carport of the vacant home. As they approached the vehicle, a man ran from the officers.

The officers gave chase, quickly arresting him without incident and identifying him as Mays.

High, 24, known artistically as Jae High, was shot inside an apartment at 3225 S. Wilmot Road on Jan. 15.

Officers went to the apartment complex after reports of a shooting at 10:45 a.m., Dugan said.

The complex is in a neighborhood at South Wilmot Road and East Stella Road.

High can be seen on YouTube videos and Twitter. Local websites and blogs about rap and hip-hop music were posting condolences on their sites about High's death.
