Deputies are looking for a man who has burglarized multiple Pima County businesses in the last month.
Authorities are investigating at least seven burglaries they suspect were committed by the same man since late April, said Deputy Tracy Suitt, spokesman for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department. Detectives at police departments in Tucson, Marana and Oro Valley also want to talk to the man in connection with burglaries in their jurisdictions.
“Everybody has cases against this guy, or these people,” said Suitt, who noted that the burglar may have accomplices.
In the sheriff’s jurisdiction, the man has struck businesses in strip malls along West Ina Road from North Oracle to North Thornydale roads, Suitt said, although some break-ins have occurred as far north and south as Cortaro Farms and River roads.
The burglar uses power tools to gain entry into one business , then breaks through the walls to adjoining businesses , Suitt said.
Sgt. Chris Warren, spokesman for the Marana Police Department, said his agency suspects the same man committed four strip mall burglaries between May 8 and 22.
And, in early May, the same man — or men — burglarized a business in the 7300 block of North Oracle Road, said Lt. Kara Riley, spokeswoman for the Oro Valley police.
In a surveillance video taken May 15 at Dominick’s Real Italian restaurant at 8330 N. Thornydale Road , the burglar, carrying a crowbar and with a bandana covering his face, walks through the kitchen and moves supplies on a shelf to obscure the camera’s view.
The man is about 5-feet-5-inches tall and has a stocky build, Suitt said. He may also be driving a dark- color pickup truck.
