UA police detectives arrested a man Wednesday suspected of attempting to lure two females into his vehicle last week, authorities said.
Henry Yanez III was wanted in connection with suspicious activity Friday and similar reports that occurred off campus, a University of Arizona Police news release said.
Through its investigation with Tucson Police Department, UAPD identified Yanez and arrested him in connection with one count of misdemeanor assault.
Two female students at the University of Arizona were confronted by a man who tried to get them into his car, in separate incidents on the afternoon of June 12, university police warned in a campus bulletin.
Here is the bulletin issued Friday night by UA Police Chief Brian A. Seastone and by Joe Bermudez, a crime prevention specialist for the UA Police Department:
"On June 12, 2015, between 4:00 p.m. and 4:10 p.m., two female University of Arizona students were confronted, by an unknown male in two separate incidents.
"In the first incident, the suspect approached the victim, while walking along the 700 block of north Tyndall Avenue near Tyndall garage. The suspect attempted to talk to the student and asked her to get in his car. The student ignored his advances and he drove away northbound on Tyndall Avenue making an eastbound turn on University Boulevard.
"In the second incident the suspect approached the student as she was walking on east Speedway Boulevard east of Park Avenue. The suspect exited his vehicle and contacted the student near the Olive tunnel. The suspect attempted to guide the student towards his vehicle but the student ran away and called UAPD.
