Northwest Fire District paramedics responded to a motorcycle crash Feb. 11, 2016 at Interstate 10 and West Ruthrauff Road.

A motorcyclist was in critical condition after a crash Thursday on the city's north side.

Shortly after noon, Northwest Fire District crews were dispatched to a report of a motorcycle crash in the area of Interstate 10 and West Ruthrauff Road, said Capt. Brian Keeley, a fire district spokesman.

A man in his 40s was found lying in the road, and he was treated by paramedics and taken to Banner-University Medical Center, said Keeley.Β 

The man was not wearing a helmet, Keeley said.

The Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
