One patient was transported to the hospital, following a single vehicle rollover on the I-10 frontage road between Cortaro and Twin Peaks, authorities said.

The westbound Interstate 10 frontage road in Marana was closed briefly today, following a single vehicle rollover crash, authorities said.

Northwest Fire responded to the crash on the frontage road between Cortaro and Twin Peaks, shortly before 2 p.m. Upon arrival, crews found a vehicle on its side, in the desert area between the frontage road and railroad tracks, said Capt. Brian Keeley, a department spokesman.

The vehicle's occupant was able to escape the car before crews arrived, and was transported to a local hospital in stable condition, Keeley said.

The frontage road was closed between Cortaro and Twin Peaks while Marana police investigated the circumstances of the collision.
