Tucson police arrested a man suspected in more than 30 shoplifting incidents on the south side, authorties said Thursday.
Officers working in the area of North Stone Avenue and East Roger Road saw a man leaving an area Circle K, carrying three cases of beer. He got into a car and drove away, after which officers contacted the store and were told that he didn't pay for the beers, according to a post on Tucson Police's Facebook page.
The same officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, identifying the man as Ismael Cota-Aragon, 20. Cota-Aragon was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting, possession of drug paraphernalia and multiple outstanding warrants, the post said.
Cota-Aragon is a suspect in at least 36 shoplifting incidents in the area of South Campbell Avenue and East 37th Street, over the last several months.
