Christina Gee

A woman is facing aggravated assault in a Monday crash that critically injured a teen riding a motorcycle in midtown, police said.

Christina Gee, 39, was booked into the Pima County jail on suspicion of aggravated assault and felony criminal damage, said Officer Daniel Lucas, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.

Gee was impaired by alcohol, said Lucas, adding that officers conducted a DUI investigation. The charges resulted from the investigation, said Lucas.

The 17-year-old motorcyclist remains in critical condition at a local hospital.

The motorcyclist was traveling west on East Golf Links Road approaching South Sahuara Avenue. An SUV, driven by Gee, was traveling east and made a lefthand turn heading northbound in front of the motorcyclist, said Lucas.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, struck the passenger side of the SUV, Lucas said.

Gee remained at the scene.

The teen was treated by Tucson Fire Department paramedics and taken to the hospital.
