Two people suffered serious injuries when a car drove into a west side business this afternoon, authorities said.

Tucson police received the call shortly before 3 p.m., and responded to reports of a vehicle that had run through the front of Preferred Homecare, located in the area of West Grant Road and Interstate 10, said Sgt. Pete Dugan, a department spokesman.

The driver, who is an adult male, hit the accelerator, drove up over the curb, running into the building. He wasn't injured and remained at the scene, Dugan said.

Two people, who were in the building, were transported to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries. One person was transported with minor injuries, and another person was treated at the scene, Dugan said.

The circumstances surrounding the collision are under investigation by TPD traffic detectives.Β
