A wildfire in the Hereford area burned two houses, a barn and several out buildings Tuesday afternoon. No injuries were reported, said Cochise County Sheriff's officials.
The number of acreage burned or how much of the blaze has been contained by firefighters in the rural area was unknown as of 7:30 p.m., said Carol Capas, a sheriff's spokeswoman.
There have been no evacuations, Capas said.
Shortly after 2 p.m., multiple 911 callers reported the fire off Kings Ranch Road, south of Arizona Highway 92.
One lane is open on Arizona Highway 92 between both ends of Hereford Road.
More than 30 firefighters were battling the blaze, which grew in gusts of up to 27 mph in the early afternoon, said Capas.
Among fire departments that responded are Fry, Sierra Vista, Palominas, Bisbee and Fort Huachuca. Arizona State Land and the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management also have crews on the scene, Capas said.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
No further information was immediately available.
