Two people were taken to the hospital after an SUV with seven occupants was involved in a rollover crash on Aerie Drive in Marana Friday night.

Two people were injured during a single-vehicle rollover crash involving an SUV with seven occupants, officials said.

Shortly before 10 p.m. Friday, Northwest Fire District and Marana Police Department responded to a 911 call for the rollover crash with serious injuries, in the area of Aerie Drive between West Ina Road and North Thornydale Road, said Capt. Brian Keeley, a Northwest Fire spokesman.

The first unit to arrive found all seven occupants already outside of the five-seat SUV, all between the ages of 13 and 19. At the time of the crash, two people had been riding in the front seat, three in the back seat and two people were in the cargo section, Keeley said.

The two people riding in the cargo section weren't wearing seat belts, and one of them was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. That person-- who has been identified as a minor-- was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, Keeley said.

A second passenger was taken to the hospital in stable condition, and the remaining five occupants were evaluated at the scene and declined transport to the hospital, Keeley said.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
