A patient is loaded into a Northwest Fire District ambulance on North Viewpointe Place on Tuesday morning.

Two people were shot in a home northwest of Tucson late Tuesday morning, and deputies continue to search for the gunman, officials say.

The shooting was reported around 11:20 a.m. at a home in the 7800 block of North Viewpointe Place, near North Oldfather Road, north of West Ina Road. A neighbor said she heard several shots coming from the home.

The injuries to people at the house are not believed to be life threatening, Deputy Marissa Hernandez, a spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Department, said in a news release.

Deputies were searching for the gunman well into Tuesday afternoon. The gunman is believed to have run away after the shooting, but no description of him was provided Tuesday by the Sheriff’s Department.

No motive for the shooting has been released.

Pima County Sheriff's Department deputies were called to the scene of the shooting.
