The Pima Animal Care Center is hosting a "name your own adoption fee" event through April 22 and two of the dogs have recovered in time to find their new home.

The two female American Staffordshire Terriers, BlueBarry and Breezy, were strays picked up by an Animal Protection Officer and brought to the shelter March 19.

Both dogs had severe facial wounds when they were received, which caused BlueBarry to recover with a foster family. She returned to the shelter Thursday and will available for adoption this weekend, PACC said.

Breezy was able to recover from her injuries at the center and has already been put up for adoption.

“We’re in desperate need of adopters and foster caregivers to help us clear kennels,” said Director Kristen Auerbach, in a news release.

“In less than a month we’ll enter our busiest time of year, where we can take in as many as 1,500 pets a month, and need the community’s support to help us clear the tent to make room for incoming pets," she said.
