One person was seriously injured and two other hurt after their car crashed into a tractor trailer on Tucson's northwest side Saturday.

One person was seriously injured and two other hurt after their vehicle crashed into a tractor trailer Saturday morning on the northwest side, authorities said

Northwest Fire District received multiple 911 calls about a crash shortly in the area of West Orange Grove and North Shannon Road after 12 p.m., said spokesman Brian Keeley.

All three patients were taken to a local hospital for treatment, and one of the patients is in serious condition, Keeley said.

The trailer that was involved in the crash is used to carry gasoline, but isn't leaking. It's currently unknown if it's empty or still holding gas, Keeley said.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area, as several emergency vehicles are on the scene.
