Border agents found several military-style firearms and arrested three Mexican nationals near Ajo on Saturday.

Three Mexican nationals were arrested and multiple firearms were seized by Border Patrol agents near Ajo on Saturday.

Customs and Border Protection said surveillance camera operators saw two men carrying firearms about 17 miles north of the border near the Growler Mountains.

Agents and helicopters with Air and Marine Operations branches in Tucson and Yuma were sent to the area to locate the men.

Agents subsequently located several military-style rifles and ammunition hidden under some brush and an 18-year-old Mexican man hiding nearby, CBP said in a news release.

Agents continued searching the area and located and arrested two other Mexican nationals, ages 43 and 24.

All three face immigration violations and were turned over to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives along with the firearms.
