US Customs and Border Protection says these packages of heroin were confiscated from a Nogales woman riding a shuttle across the border in Arizona.

An Arizona woman is in custody on suspicion of trying to smuggle heroin through a border checkpoint.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials say the 42-year-old Nogales woman was in a shuttle van entering an immigration checkpoint Wednesday morning at Interstate 19.

Agents say van passengers were subject to a routine secondary immigration inspection.

The search turned up four packages of brown heroin concealed the the woman's undergarments.

She was immediately arrested and transported to the Nogales Station.

The woman, whose name was not released, will be processed for drug smuggling charges.

Homeland Security investigators are now overseeing the case.
