A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash when he drove off the highway and hit a wall in Green Valley April 28, 2016, authorities said.

A man was killed Thursday in a single-vehicle crash in Green Valley.

The victim was identified as James Julian, 78, said Deputy Courtney Rodriguez, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman.

At about 4:30 p.m., deputies responded to an area near North La CaΓ±ada Drive and North Cactus Loop for a crash.

Deputies found Julian inside the vehicle and he was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, said Rodriguez.

Traffic investigators determined that Julian was traveling south on La CaΓ±ada when he drove over the raised median and crossed through the northbound lanes. The vehicle continued traveling into vegetation and crashed into a wall.

Julian was wearing a seatbelt, and it is possible he suffered a medical issue, said Rodriguez. Β
