A federal grand jury indicted a Tucson woman in connection with selling fentanyl to a man who died after ingesting the drug.
Lana Leshinsky, 41, is accused of selling the synthetic opioid to an unidentified man who died in July 2017 after using the drug, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office. The charge of distributing fentanyl resulting in death carries a mandatory-minimum sentence of 20 years in prison.
The Feb. 14 indictment, which was unsealed Monday, alleged Leshinsky sold fentanyl in Tucson to the man around 3:47 p.m. on July 13. The man died the following day.
