With vote counts giving incumbent District 1 Supervisor Ally Miller a more-than 14 point advantage, her Republican primary challenger John Winchester conceded Thursday.
โThe outcome was not due to lack of hard work, conviction, or sacrifice,โ Winchester wrote in a statement. โI salute my campaign volunteers, supporters and friends.โ
Leading up to the primary, a number of big donations gave Winchester a modest fundraising advantage over the incumbent. That was not enough to unseat Miller, who has been at the center of an ongoing controversy regarding her use of private email to conduct public business.
