Hours before the annual Tucson Rodeo Parade rolls down the streets of Tucson's south side, the Ajo gate at the VA campus will be closed to traffic.
The Ajo gate will close at 8 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23 for traffic restrictions associated with the parade, according to a news release from the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System.
There's no set time for the gate to reopen, as it will be at the discretion of the Tucson Police Department after the parade has ended.
All vehicles will need to enter through the Sixth Avenue Gate, 3601 S. Sixth Ave., until the Ajo Gate has been opened, the release said.
The VA is recommending that all patients and staff allow extra time to drive to the campus, due to the gate closure, road restrictions and heavy traffic associated with the parade, and only people with official business will be allowed to park at the VA campus.
