Pima County Sheriff's deputies responded to a neighborhood southwest of the city Monday to a report of a man attempting to lure two boys into his car.

Last week, a similar report was made and investigated by deputies.

On Monday shortly before 7 p.m., deputies went to a home in the 2600 block of West Capistrano Road for a report of suspicious activity, said Deputy Courtney Rodriguez, a sheriff's department spokeswoman.

The neighborhood is north of West Valencia Road and east of South Cardinal Avenue.

Deputies found out that a man had attempted to lure two boys, both age 10, into his car. The boys were outdoors when a man drove up and told them he would give them $5 to get into his car, said Rodriguez.

Both boys refused and the man drove off, she said.

He was described as white, in his 40s or 50s, with blonde hair. He was last seen wearing a University of Arizona baseball cap. He is believed to have been driving a newer model, gray Volkswagen Beetle.

Last Thursday, July 14, at about 5:30 p.m., deputies responded to a house in the 7300 block of South Mule Deer Road to a report of suspicious activity.

The neighborhood is south of West Los Reales Road and west of South Cardinal Avenue.

Deputies learned that a man tried to make contact with a 10-year-old boy who was playing in a front yard. The man was across the street and called out to the boy to come over to him, authorities said.

The boy did not and went inside his house and told his mother.

The man was described as white with short gray, or light-colored hair. The man had a mark on the right-side of his face, just above his lip, said authorities.

He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, and torn jeans.

Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
