A 23-year-old woman was killed when police say she lost control of her car and smashed into a streetlight on Tucson’s southeast side, police said.
Keaira Nasha Bell was driving 2001 Infiniti sedan about 9:30 p.m. Friday on East 29th Street just east of South Swan Road when she struck a curb and then a streetlight, Tucson police said in a news release.
Investigators say Bell was speeding and swerving around traffic before she lost control and crashed. Rainy weather might also have contributed to the crash, the release said.
Both Bell and an unidentified male passenger were wearing seatbelts. The passenger was taken to the hospital for minor injures, the release said.
The investigation continues.
