An 18-year-old was killed in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday night on Tucson's northwest side.
The wreck happened about 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of North La Cholla Boulevard and North McCarty Road, north of West Magee Road, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.
Three adults and one minor were in the first car. Gael Carrasco, a passenger, was killed in the wreck. The driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, the release said.
The two adults in the second car were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. And the sole occupant of the third care was not injured.
Deputies say the first car was headed north on La Cholla, possibly without its headlights turned on, when it collided with the second car that turned right onto McCarty Road.
The third vehicle was disabled when it crashed into debris on the road, the release said.
The investigation continues.
