The Powerball jackpot on Saturday, Jan. 9, will be the largest jackpot prize in the history of U.S. lottery games at about $800 million.

The Arizona Lottery on Friday released some state information about ticket sales:

The Arizona Lottery sold more than 948,000 Powerball tickets on Wednesday, Jan. 6.

Β· The Arizona Lottery sold more than $6.1 million worth of Powerball tickets on Wednesday, Jan. 6.

State officials said the three Arizona locations that sell the most Arizona Lottery tickets are:

  • Beaver Dam Station, 401 Old Highway 91, Littlefield
  • Fry's Food & Drug, 10660 Grand Ave., Sun City
  • Safeway, 10926 W. Bell Road, Sun City.

Littlefield is a small town in northern Arizona, near the state borders of Nevada and Utah.

Jackpot winners

Arizona has produced 12 Powerball jackpot winners since the Arizona Lottery began selling Powerball tickets in 1994.

Powerball jackpot winners in Arizona have won a total of more than $702 million since 1994.

Powerball prizes won during the current cycle

Since the Powerball jackpot began rolling Nov. 7, 13 Arizona Lottery players have matched four white balls and the Powerball to win $50,000.

More than 550,000 cash prize winning Powerball tickets have been sold in Arizona since Saturday, Nov.7, ranging between $4 and $50,000.

Powerball prizes won during 2015

Β In 2015:

  • One Arizona Lottery player won a Powerball jackpot of $188.9 million. The ticket was purchased in Glendale.
  • Five Powerball players from Arizona won $1 million prizes. Two of the tickets were purchased in Tucson, the remaining tickets were purchased in Mesa, Pearce and Scottsdale.
  • Seven Arizona Powerball players won $50,000. The winning tickets were purchased in Gilbert, Maricopa, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Sun City West, Tombstone and Tucson.
