A cold front will descend on Tucson Saturday, Dec. 16, bringing almost wintry weather to thousands of people celebrating downtown at the Parade of Lights.
With the National Weather Serviceβs Tucson office predicting a slight chance of rain in the metro area beginning this evening and a 30 percent chance of snow on Mount Lemmon later tonight, it may finally feel like December in the Old Pueblo.
Chances of snow on Mount Lemmon increase to 60 percent on Sunday. During previous snowfalls, the Pima County Sheriffβs Department has closed the road at the base of the highway because of overcrowding. For updates on weather-related road conditions, call 547-7510.
If you canβt make it up the mountain tomorrow, there will be plenty of snow to play in downtown today, as officials are bringing 15 tons of snow for a festival that runs from 3 to 9 p.m.
