The third annual Back the Blue Jeep Convoy will take place Sept. 29. Jeeps and other off-road vehicles will travel by convoy from the northwest side on I-10 to the Arizona Motorplex, for a public event with displays, vendors and food trucks.

The third annual Back the Blue Jeep Convoy will take place Saturday, Sept. 29.

Proceeds from the convoy and free event afterward will benefit the Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Foundation.

Jeeps and off-road-vehicle owners are invited to be part of the convoy. Participants will gather at the Harkins Theatres at Interstate 10 and North Cortaro Road by 8:30 a.m. The convoy will then travel eastbound on I-10 to the Craycroft Road exit, where it will proceed to the Arizona Motorplex, 4300 E. Los Reales Road.

At the motorplex there will be food trucks, vendors, raffle prizes, vehicle displays and representatives from police agencies.

The event is open to the public.

The convoy is expected to arrive at the motorplex by 9 a.m. Last year, more than 500 vehicles participated.

The convoy is presented by the Tucson Jeeps Club and the DM Military Jeepers Club, with sponsorship by Jim Click. The event began in 2016 following the slayings of police officers in Dallas and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as a way to rally support for local law enforcement agencies.
