Crews are battling a wildfire near Douglas that has burned 1,920 acres.

The Baker Canyon fire, which is in a difficult area to access because of rough terrain, is about 28 miles northeast of Douglas, Bureau of Land Management officials said.

The blaze is burning grass and brush just west of the Arizona-New Mexico border.

The cause of the fire, which started Monday at about 5 p.m., is under investigation, officials said.

More than 100 personnel were working the blaze, which is being fought by a helicopter and ground crews.

High winds and low relative humidity were major concerns, and the fire is expected to grow through the night, authorities said.
