A 52-year-old Marana woman was arrested at the border in Nogales after border agents say they found 11 pounds of heroin wrapped around her stomach.

A 52-year-old Marana woman was arrested at the border in Nogales after border agents say they found 11 pounds of heroin wrapped around her stomach.

The woman was apprehended Tuesday as she walked into Arizona at the Port of Nogales' Morley Pedestrian Gate, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said in a news release Friday.

A dog alerted border officers to the heroin, the release said. She was turned over to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.

The woman was not named in the news release. The heroin was valued at more than $188,000.
