CBP agents found more than a pound of meth hidden in a bag of burritos on May 20, 2016.

Customs officers in Nogales seized a bag of burritos worth about $3,000 from a woman trying to enter into Arizona on Friday.

Customs and Border Protection said the Nogales, Arizona, woman was crossing at the Morley Pedestrian Gate when a drug dog alerted to her bag of burritos, according to the agency.

Agents inspected the bag and found the burritos held about a pound of meth, worth about $3,000. The 23-year-old woman was arrested.

The drugs and burritos were seized.

It was one of several seizures at Nogales crossings recently:

  • Officers at the DeConcini crossing seized 28 pounds of cocaine, worth about $311,000 on Friday. They arrested a 45-year-old Mexican national.
  • On Saturday, CBP officers at the DeConcini crossing seized 16 pounds of cocaine worth about $179,000. It was found concealed around the transmission of a Ford truck driven by a Mexican national, 38.
  • On Sunday, officers at the Mariposa crossing arrested a husband and wife after finding nearly 24 pounds of cocaine, worth about $271,000, and nearly 10 pounds of meth, worth about $28,900.
  • Also on Sunday, officers at DeConcini arrested a 60-year-old Glendale woman after finding 27 pounds of meth, worth nearly $82,000, and more than 3 pounds of heroin, worth about $54,000, hidden in the tailgate of her Ford truck.
