Gas prices increased at a slower rate this week across Arizona and the nation as oil prices slipped despite supply concerns, AAA says.

The statewide average gas price rose about a nickel in a week to $3.79 per gallon of regular on Friday, while the national average edged up about a half-cent to $3.54 per gallon.

Tucsonโ€™s average gas price also bumped up a half-cent to $3.67 per gallon.

Yuma had the stateโ€™s lowest average gas price at $3.60 per gallon, while Scottsdale had the priciest gas at an average $3.92 per gallon.

AAA said that although oil prices slipped a bit this week, gas prices could continue their climb amid Ukraineโ€™s recent targeting of Russian oil infrastructure and the seasonal switchover to more costly summer gas blends in some areas.

With gas prices staying stubbornly high in Tucson and across Arizona, some small steps can add up to save you real money on your fuel bills.
