Gas prices increased at a slower rate this week across Arizona and the nation as oil prices slipped despite supply concerns, AAA says.
The statewide average gas price rose about a nickel in a week to $3.79 per gallon of regular on Friday, while the national average edged up about a half-cent to $3.54 per gallon.
Tucsonโs average gas price also bumped up a half-cent to $3.67 per gallon.
Yuma had the stateโs lowest average gas price at $3.60 per gallon, while Scottsdale had the priciest gas at an average $3.92 per gallon.
AAA said that although oil prices slipped a bit this week, gas prices could continue their climb amid Ukraineโs recent targeting of Russian oil infrastructure and the seasonal switchover to more costly summer gas blends in some areas.
