Busy mom's volunteering, leadership get her belled

Why: For everything she does to help children, including being a cheer coach, basketball coach and Girl Scout troop leader. The members of the troop think of Shannon as their mom and love the activities that are planned, Anna, her daughter wrote in her nomination letter. She spends almost all of her time volunteering at Anna’s school, helping with the book fair, field trips and updating its website. “She does so much to help others,” Anna wrote.
