A man was killed and two people were injured in a head-on crash Saturday on Tucson's south side, police say.
About 11:45 a.m., the driver of a 2019 Kia Forte headed north on South Campbell Avenue near East Irvington Road swerved into the southbound lanes and smashed into a 2014 Hyundai Tucson, Tucson police said in a news release.
The driver of the Kia, Adrian Rene Lujan Terrazas, 22, was killed.
An unidentified child passenger in the Kia was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The unidentified woman driving the Hyundai was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, the release said.
Terrazas did not have a valid driver's license and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, the release said. The child was not in restraint seat "and appears to have been unrestrained at the time of the collision," the release said.
Drugs also were found in the vehicle, police said, but it was not known if Terrazas was impaired at the time of the crash, the release said.
The investigation continues.
