WARNING: This video contains graphic content. On Feb. 3, police received several 911 calls reporting a man who was pointing a gun at bystanders and passing vehicles near North Romero and West Prince roads.
Patrol officer Benjamin Boschee ordered Kevin Angelo Lyons, 25, to drop the weapon, but Lyons refused. Police said Lyons was shot after he pointed his gun at Boschee. Lyons was taken to the hospital for serious, but non life-threatening injuries. No other officers or community members were injured. It was later determined that Lyon’s weapon was a replica air pistol.
