Crime scene

A 24-year-old man was found dead Monday on the street in a southside neighborhood, Tucson police say.

Officers found Daniel Flowers in the road in the 700 block of West Idaho Street, south of West Irvington Road and west of South 12th Avenue, Tucson police said Tuesday in a news release.

Officers responded to a call of a "man who was assaulted and in the roadway," according to the release. They arrived to find Flowers' body with "obvious signs of trauma."

Details are extremely limited. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME, the anonymous tip line.

Flowers' death marks the 62nd homicide in Tucson this year. The city had 68 homicides at this time last year, police say.
